Mobile Design Is Here To Stay

How does your website stack up?

It is no secret that more website viewers than ever are viewing your website on their phones and tablets … maybe even more so than while they are sitting at their desks on their computers.

Added to that, if you are want to be found in Internet searches by people searching for you on Google while they are using their mobile devices you may not be found. Really.

Google is getting serious about this. In April of 2015, Google publicly came out and let everyone know they had made a change for mobile searches, we even wrote a blog article about it. Starting the first of May 2016, they have taken searching on a mobile device a step further and have increased the effect of their mobile-friendly ranking signal. The goal for Google was to help their users find more pages that are relevant to a mobile-friendly search – the best experience for the mobile viewer.

With more and more mobile devices being used by website viewers, it just may be in your best interest to take a closer look at your website, evaluate your brand experience, and make some changes.

However, even if Google didn’t make this change, updating your website to one that performs well on mobile devices is a good business decision. With more and more businesses online and more and more comparison online of “Why You Over Your Competitor”, this helps the viewers show you as the solution to their problems. Why, because you are relevant with an up to date website.

Mobile is good for business.

Recently, one of our customers experienced the power of having an updated mobile-friendly website first hand.

We worked with them to update their 4-ish year old website to a modern, clean-lined, mobile-friendly site. There was strategy involved in the design to draw in their audience (potential clients).

Within a few weeks of their site going “live”, they received a client who looked at their website on their phone. This client ended up being a very high end client who is now referring their high end friends (and colleagues) to them too.

When they asked, “why did you choose us”? Their answer was simple – “Because of your website”. They explained that because they were always on the go, they viewed our clients website along with two other of their competitors websites on their phone. Our client’s website was the only website that looked good on their mobile device – making them look professional and credible.

Since then, our client has received additional high end customers solely because they found them while searching on their mobile devices and their website was modern, easy for them to read and to gather information they needed to help them make a purchasing decision.
